MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611111058 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering And Technology Pharmacy Institute on September 16, 2026, for Self-Assembled Tofacitinib Conjugate Nanoparticles In A Thermosensitive Hydrogel For Plaque Psoriasis.

Inventors include Kajal; and Archna Singh.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a standardised topical thermosensitive nanogel comprising self-assembled nanoparticles of a covalent amphiphile-tofacitinib conjugate for the treatment of plaque psoriasis. Tofacitinib is linked through a cleavable ester bond to a hydrophobic tail such as stearic acid, and the conjugate spontaneously self-assembles in an aqueous poloxamer 407, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and trehalose matrix into nanoparticles of eighty to one hundred twenty nanometres, polydispersity index below zero point two, zeta potential below minus thirty millivolts, drug loading above twenty-eight percent and encapsulation efficiency above ninety percent. The composition exhibits sol-gel transition at approximately thirty degrees Celsius, six-fold enhancement of tofacitinib solubility, two point six-fold higher ex-vivo human epidermal flux than marketed tofacitinib ointment, two point six-fold higher skin retention, seventy-five percent reduction of psoriasis area and severity index in imiquimod-induced murine psoriasis with negligible systemic absorption, HaCaT viability above ninety-three percent, and stability of at least twelve months at refrigerated storage
