Abstract: The invention relates to wearable safety electronics, and particularly to a self-charging safety smartwatch having a watch housing and strap portions. An energy harvesting module includes piezoelectric cells in the strap portions, a thermoelectric generator at a skin- contact region of the watch housing, and a wired charging input, with an energy harvesting circuit providing source-specific conditioning. A power management unit routes harvested or wired energy first to an emergency supercapacitor and thereafter to a primary rechargeable battery, while maintaining segregation of a main power bus and an emergency communication bus. Upon validated actuation of a physical SOS button, an SOS activation circuit drives an isolation barrier to connect the emergency supercapacitor to the emergency communication bus, thereby powering an emergency communications module for positioning and sequential cellular, Bluetooth relay, and satellite distress transmission.
