MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621049304 A) filed by Vit Bhopal University on April 17, 2026, for Self-Recharging System For An Unmanned Aerial Platform.

Inventors include Rakshit, Snigdhajyoti; Bhakat, Partha Pratim; and D, Lakshmi.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system (100) and a method (300) for self-recharging an unmanned aerial platform (104). The system (100) controls the unmanned aerial platform (104) to perform exploration and autonomous energy management during operation. The system (100) acquires environmental and operational data through a sensor array (106) and evaluates wind parameters, orientation, and surface conditions. The system (100) identifies safe operational states using a landing assessment unit (118) and aligns the unmanned aerial platform (104) relative to wind direction. The system (100) activates a morphing actuation unit (108) to deform one or more propeller blades into a wind energy harvesting profile and secures the profile using a locking unit (110). Further, the system (100) converts wind-induced rotational motion into electrical energy using a wind energy conversion unit (112) and stores the generated energy in a battery unit (114).
