Abstract: A sensor-embedded contact lens system (100) for pressure-triggered ocular drug delivery. The system comprises a biocompatible substrate (102) configured to be positioned on a corneal surface and a pressure and strain sensor (104) embedded in the biocompatible substrate (102) for detecting variations corresponding to intraocular pressure. A processing module (106) electrically coupled to the pressure and strain sensor (104) is configured to receive and process generated signals. A drug reservoir (108) disposed within the biocompatible substrate (102) stores a therapeutic agent, and an actuator (110) operatively coupled to the drug reservoir (108) releases a controlled quantity of the therapeutic agent upon activation. A microfluidic channel (112) fluidically connects the drug reservoir (108) to a drug release region to regulate delivery. A power supply module (114) provides electrical power for synchronized sensing, processing, and controlled drug delivery, enabling autonomous and physiologically responsive ocular drug delivery.
