The method comprises determining at least one recovery mechanism for one or more failures associated with an OpenDistributed Unit (O-DU) of a communication network. The method comprises performing based on at least one of: a deployment scenario associated with the O-DU or the at least one recovery mechanism, one of: transmitting the at least one recovery mechanism, by the Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) of the communication network, to an Open-Radio Unit (O-RU) associated with the O-DU and transmitting the at least one recovery mechanism, by the SMO, to the O-RU via the O-DU.
