Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a sewage toxicity and level monitoring system for real-time monitoring of hazardous conditions in sewage infrastructure. The system comprises an Arduino-based microcontroller, an MQ135 gas sensor for detecting toxic and flammable gases, a DS18B20 temperature sensor for monitoring temperature variations, an ultrasonic sensor for measuring sewage level and overflow conditions, a rain sensor for detecting water intrusion, and a flame sensor for identifying fire hazards. A 16×2 LCD displays real-time sensor data, while a buzzer and LED indicators provide local alerts. A GSM communication module transmits SMS notifications to responsible authorities when abnormal conditions such as toxic gas accumulation, overflow, blockage, abnormal temperature rise, or flame detection occur. The invention enables continuous automated monitoring, improves worker safety, reduces manual inspection, and supports efficient sewage management in municipal, industrial, and smart city sanitation systems.
