MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617078949 A) filed by Igus Se & Co. Kg on June 26, 2026, for Shore Power Connection With Safety Devices.

Inventor includes Tiling, Martin.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a shore power connection (20) for HVSC systems for supplying shore power, having a box-shaped connection box (21) and plug protection covers (22A, 22B) and proposes multiple improvements for operational safety, in particular with respect to arcing explosions: i) The shore power connection (20) has an explosion pressure relief device (41, 42) for controlled routing of explosion gases to a non-critical external spatial area. ii) The shore power connection (20) has plug protection covers (22A, 22B) which at least partly protect the plug connectors and are able to be locked to one another by way of a locking device. iii) The plug protection covers (22A, 22B) and/or locking device may comprise a detector member (85) that can be integrated into the electrical safety circuit of the HVSC system, in particular can be connected to a pilot loop.
