Abstract: A signal quality estimation system and method for magnetic field map reconstruction in unshielded magnetocardiography relates to extracting cardiac magnetic signals in real-world electromagnetic environments using one or more room-temperature magnetic sensors (101) operating in any suitable sensor configuration topology, including single-sensor, gradiometric, or multi-channel array arrangements. A signal processing pipeline comprising one or more noise suppression and baseline correction operations (303), a signal denoising stage (306), and an automated signal quality estimation (SQE) (400) framework is provided. The invention achieves a statistically significant improvement in cardiac signal-to-noise ratio over unprocessed signals in a fully unshielded environment, and produces spatial magnetic field maps with dipolar field distributions, pseudo-current-density orientations, and magnetic field map angles consistent with those of reference shielded multi-channel magnetocardiography systems, demonstrating clinical-grade cardiac magnetic field reconstruction without magnetically shielded infrastructure.
