Abstract: This project presents an advanced approach to the detection and classification of skin cancer through the integration of deep learning and optimization techniques. Skin cancer, being one of the most common and potentially life-threatening conditions, necessitates early and accurate diagnosis for effective treatment and improved survival rates. Traditional diagnostic methods, which rely heavily on manual examination by dermatologists, are not only time-consuming but also subject to variability based on the experience and expertise of the medical professional. This has led to a growing interest in the development of automated computer-aided diagnosis systems that can assist clinicians in identifying skin lesions with higher accuracy and consistency The proposed system in this study addresses this need by leveraging deep learning methodologies in combination with image processing and metaheuristic optimization algorithms to build a comprehensive, accurate, and efficient skin lesion detection pipeline. The proposed system is structured into several key modules, each contributing to the overall performance and reliability of the diagnostic process. The initial step involves preprocessing of dermoscopic images to ensure data cleanliness, uniformity, and balance.
