Abstract: SLAT BASED AUTOMATED CONVEYOR SYSTEM FOR CONTINUOUS FORWARD MATERIAL HANDLING Abstract The present invention relates to a slat based automated conveyor system for controlled and indexed forward material handling. The system comprises a feeder (1), a plurality of slats (2) mounted on a sliding linkage mechanism (3), guide rails (4), a conveyor frame (5), an actuating cam (6), and a motor (7). The feeder (1) is configured to store and supply stacked flat materials such as cards, cartons, blanks, or similar articles. The motor (7) drives the actuating cam (6), which converts rotary motion into reciprocating linear motion of the sliding linkage mechanism (3). The slats (2) mounted on the sliding linkage mechanism (3) engage and advance the lowermost material from the feeder (1) in a stepwise indexed manner during each forward stroke, while the return stroke allows the next material to be positioned for subsequent advancement. The guide rails (4) maintain alignment and prevent lateral displacement of the materials during transportation. The conveyor frame (5) provides structural support and stability to the system. The invention enables reliable, stable, and accurately spaced forward movement of materials and is suitable for industrial applications such as packaging, printing, inspection, labeling, sorting, and automated assembly lines.
