Abstract: ABSTRACT OF INVENTION: The present invention discloses a modified microscopic slide, herein referred to as "SLIDETECT", comprising a conventional glass slide integrated with a convex embossed dot positioned at a predetermined comer on one surface. The embossed marker enables rapid and accurate identification of the smear-bearing surface during cytological evaluation. The invention minimizes orientation errors, prevents slide inversion during microscopic analysis, enhances workflow efficiency in pathology laboratories, and reduces diagnostic discrepancies caused by improper slide handling. The structural modification does not interfere with optical clarity, staining procedures, or compatibility with standard laboratory equipment. The aim of this newly devised embossed marker enables rapid and accurate identification of the smear-bearing surface during cytological evaluation
