MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641095207 A) filed by Indian Space Research Organisation on August 06, 2026, for Sliding Sleeve Injector Head System For Throttling Propellant Flow In A Liquid Rocket Engine.
Inventor includes Rafeeque T A.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a sliding sleeve injector head system (100) for throttling propellant flow in a liquid rocket engine. The sliding sleeve injector head system (100) includes a first propellant manifold (01), a second propellant manifold (02), a tangential injector element (04) having first and second tangential orifices (4.1, 4.2), first and second sleeves (06), and an actuator assembly including a linear actuator (16), an actuator shaft (13), and sleeve links (07). Linear displacement received from the linear actuator (16) is transmitted via the actuator shaft (13) and the sleeve links (07) to axially move the first and second sleeves (06). The axial movement varies uncovered flow areas of the tangential orifices (4.1, 4.2), thereby regulating respective propellant mass flow rates inside the propellant manifolds (01, 02) before the propellants meet at an injector exit.
