MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104125 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 29, 2026, for Smart Abdominal Roller System With Multi-Modal Biometric Sensing And Adaptive Form Feedback.

Inventors include Anupam Jena; Navita; Babina; and Bebesh Tripathy.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart abdominal roller system for monitoring and improving exercise performance. The system comprises a roller apparatus having a force transducer and an inertial measurement unit for acquiring force and movement data, together with wearable electromyography sensors for acquiring muscle- activity data. Optical sensors may further obtain physiological parameters including heart rate and heart-rate variability. A processing arrangement synchronizes the sensor data and analyzes the combined data to determine exercise parameters including range of motion, movement trajectory, force distribution, repetition quality, muscle activation, bilateral imbalance, and fatigue-related conditions. The system provides real-time audio, visual and/or haptic feedback in response to detected exercise conditions. The disclosed invention thereby provides an integrated exercise apparatus capable of objective performance monitoring, form assessment, physiological analysis, and adaptive feedback while retaining the portability and functionality of an abdominal roller.
