MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411103055 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges on December 24, 2024, for Smart And Efficient Borewell Rescue Device.

Inventors include Dr. Dinesh Arora; Mayank; Khushi; Mehak Sachdeva; Kamya Joshi; and Sahil Kumar Singh.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a rescue device for borewell operations, designed to ensure the safety and well-being of victims trapped at the bottom of a borewell. The device features a lightweight dome structure that can expand and contract using a hydraulic mechanism, securely encapsulating the victim. It includes an automatic oxygen supply system, a carbon dioxide removal mechanism, and health monitoring sensors to track vital signs and anxiety levels. The device also incorporates infrared and ultrasonic sensors to accurately detect the victim’s position. Additional features include a two-way communication system, a UV sterilization system for hygiene, AI-based image recognition for injury detection, and a thermal regulation system for comfort. The dome is constructed from durable, corrosion-resistant materials and is equipped with external sensors to monitor borewell stability. Compatible with various borewell diameters, the device offers versatility in rescue operations. FIG. 1
