Abstract: The present invention provides a smart Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) system for automatic reactive power compensation and real-time monitoring of electrical parameters and APFC panel conditions. The system comprises a microcontroller-based control unit, electrical parameter sensing arrangement, selectively switchable capacitor banks, panel-status monitoring arrangement, local display, and IoT communication arrangement. The controller determines reactive power compensation requirements from measured voltage, current, power factor, and reactive power and selectively switches capacitor banks to maintain a desired power factor. The system detects capacitor failure, contactor failure, MCCB tripping, and abnormal voltage or current, displays operating information locally, and transmits parameters, status, and alerts to an authorized remote monitoring platform.
