MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511004570 A) filed by Appneurons Technologies Private Limited on January 20, 2025, for Smart Calories System: A Caloric And Nutritional Scoring Framework For Personalized Dietary Management.
Inventors include Manchanda, Puneet; and Manchanda, Sarthak.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for personalized dietary management. It relates to evaluating food items based on nutritional characteristics including caloric content and at least one macronutrient or compositional attribute, and for deriving a nutritional quality assessment using a graded nutritional classification. An effective caloric impact is computed by applying nutrition quality factors, user-specific personalization factors derived from a health profile, and food preparation characteristics. The effective caloric impact is scaled to generate a simplified personalized calorie value configured to reduce cognitive load during dietary tracking. A color coded qualitative dietary indicator is assigned to the food item, and an overall dietary quality score may be determined by aggregating weighted qualitative indicators over a defined time period. Physiological response data from wearable or monitoring devices may be incorporated to refine personalization. The invention enables intuitive, adaptive dietary evaluation tailored to individual health considerations.
