Abstract: A field-node-based smart crop field wildlife protection system and method are disclosed. The system combines motion/thermal sensing with independent ground- vibration sensing, and optionally camera-based species classification, at a monitored crop-field boundary zone. A passive-infrared or equivalent motion sensor detects the approach or presence of an animal, while a geophone or MEMS vibration sensor detects ground-borne movement. An embedded controller, preferably an ESP32- class controller, acquires the sensor signals, derives motion and vibration features, establishes or stores a healthy-field baseline, and applies multi-signal decision logic. The controller classifies the monitored zone as normal, intrusion-suspected, or confirmed-intrusion. When a confirmed-intrusion criterion is satisfied, the controller activates one or more non-lethal deterrent actuators, such as ultrasonic sound, audible alarm, or strobe light, and a GSM or mobile-application communication module transmits an alert containing zone identification and event information to the farmer or a configured custodian. The field node may include rechargeable energy storage and solar-trickle charging and may be housed in a weather-resistant enclosure with a pole or fence-post mounting arrangement. The system provides a low-cost, continuous, automated early-warning and deterrence layer intended to reduce crop damage from wildlife intrusion, as an aid that complements rather than replaces existing farm-protection practices.
