Abstract: ABSTRACT SMART HELMET SYSTEM FOR REAL-TIME ACCIDENT PREDICTION USING MICROCONTROLLER-BASED TILT MONITORING The present invention provides a smart helmet system (100) for real-time accident prediction for two-wheeler riders. The system comprises a sensor unit (110) with an MPU6050 inertial measurement unit integrating a three-axis accelerometer (112) and a three-axis gyroscope (113) for continuous helmet orientation monitoring, a processing unit (120) with an ESP32 microcontroller (121) that applies threshold-based directional detection logic to identify left, right, forward, and backward tilt movements, an alert unit (130) with directional LEDs (131, 132, 133, 134), an alert LED (135), and a buzzer (136) activated upon sustained extreme tilt detection via a stability counter mechanism, and a visualization unit (140) that renders a real-time three-dimensional graphical model (143) of helmet orientation via a Processing IDE application (142). The system provides proactive accident prediction by detecting dangerous riding conditions before an accident occurs, unlike conventional reactive systems. [
