MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092134 A) filed by Vignans Foundation For Science, Technology And Research on July 29, 2026, for Smart Home Automation Using Lora Based Communication.

Inventors include D. Tarun Sai; Dr. K. Lova Raju; Dr. Bishnu Prasad Mishra; and Dr Naga Srinivasarao Chilamkurthy.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: Recently LoRa’s strong potential strength has been established for board range applications. In addition, LoRa systems are secure, less power consumption and especially for long range. Implemented these systems have a specific need that are commonly use in both homes and industries. This invention proposes a specific system that uses LoRa technology which enables communication up to 1 km practically and these systems are working very accurately. There is less interference with other frequencies and it have a best signal penetration level. Ensure this system controls output applications very accurately along with it provides real-time data (RTD) and this system can make lager work with less human interaction. Various experiments were carried out focusing on home automation. A real-time testing was conducted for both indoor and outdoor environment and was controlled using offline communication. The life expectancy of the system was evaluated as approximately 3 days. The transmission distance between the Tx and Rx is 300m with obstacle while in LOS (line of sight) is 1 km. The LoRa technology is suitable for smart home systems in places where Wi-Fi or cellular networks are weak.
