Abstract: The present invention relates to a Smart Hostel Room Energy Optimizer with Room Level Learning, an intelligent energy management system designed for optimizing electricity consumption in individual hostel rooms through adaptive learning, real-time monitoring, and automated control. The invention addresses the limitations of conventional energy-saving systems that rely on fixed schedules, centralized control, or manual operation by introducing a room-level artificial intelligence-based optimization mechanism capable of learning the unique occupancy patterns, behavioural preferences, and energy usage characteristics of each hostel room. The proposed system comprises a plurality of smart sensing units, energy monitoring modules, controllable electrical interfaces, and a learning-based optimization controller. The sensing units collect real-time information including occupancy status, environmental conditions, appliance usage, lighting conditions, and historical consumption patterns. The collected data is processed by an intelligent learning algorithm configured to identify recurring user behaviours, predict future energy requirements, and generate personalized energy optimization strategies for each room independently. The invention enables automatic regulation of electrical appliances such as lights, fans, air conditioners, and other connected devices based on actual room utilization and learned occupancy behaviour. Unlike conventional building-level energy management systems, the proposed system performs continuous room-level adaptation, allowing different optimization strategies for different users and rooms without affecting occupant comfort. The system further incorporates feedback-based learning, allowing the optimization model to improve its accuracy over time by analysing energy consumption trends and user interactions. The Smart Hostel Room Energy Optimizer reduces unnecessary power consumption caused by vacant rooms, excessive appliance operation, and inefficient energy practices while maintaining user convenience and operational reliability. The invention is particularly suitable for hostels, student accommodations, residential buildings, and institutional housing facilities where multiple independent rooms exhibit diverse energy consumption behaviours. The proposed invention provides a scalable, cost-effective, and intelligent solution for achieving energy efficiency, reducing electricity costs, supporting sustainable energy utilization, and enabling next-generation smart hostel infrastructure through autonomous room-level energy management and continuous learning capabilities.
