Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart hybrid energy harvesting and storage system for industrial automation applications. The system comprises a hybrid energy harvesting module combining two or more ambient energy harvesting elements selected from piezoelectric, thermoelectric, photovoltaic, and radio-frequency harvesting elements, an intelligent power management module conditioning and combining harvested power through multiple-input maximum power point tracking, an energy storage element combining supercapacitor and rechargeable battery technology, a predictive power management algorithm forecasting future harvested energy availability and adaptively adjusting connected device power consumption, and a monitoring and communication module reporting system status to facility-level energy management infrastructure. The invention provides reliable, self-sustaining power to distributed sensors and actuators across heterogeneous industrial ambient energy conditions, eliminating reliance on wired power infrastructure or battery replacement.
