Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart food freshness monitoring system using a colour changing sticker integrated with sensing technology for detecting food spoilage in real time. The system consists of a smart sticker containing pH-sensitive and gas-sensitive sensors that react to chemical changes and gases released during food spoilage. The sensor-based sticker changes colour to indicate the freshness condition of the food product. The sticker can be attached to food packaging containers and provides a simple, low-cost, and user-friendly method for monitoring food quality without opening the package. The invention helps improve food safety, reduce food wastage, and support intelligent food packaging applications for dairy products, meat, seafood, fruits, and vegetables.
