MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441008490 A) filed by R. V. College Of Engineering on February 08, 2024, for Smart Landmine’s System.

Inventors include M. Uttarakumari; Mohammed Asim; Muktha V Naik; S Sandhya; and Mohammad Saifali Shaikh.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: A smart landmine’s system 100 comprising: a mine device 101 placed above a landmine 104 which search for a friendly signal and authenticates unique codes sent by a band device 102 to identify between friend and foe and act or detonate accordingly; a band device 102 worn by soldiers or placed under friend’s vehicle to communicate with the smart landmines 104 through an encrypted two-way communication 103 with a pass key, and automatically get deactivated in the event of a soldier’s demise to prevent misuse; and a smart landmine 104 conserve energy by implementing a “deep sleep mode” as a soldier steps on a landmine, the mine device 101 wakes from deep sleep mode and searches for a friend, wherein the smart landmine’s device 100 enhances soldier safety and control over landmines also addressing the indiscriminate harm by distinguishing between friend and foe.
