Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence-based material identification and recycling guidance system 100 configured to classify materials from image data and generate actionable recycling insights. The system 100 comprises an image acquisition unit 101 for capturing images, a preprocessing module 102 for standardizing images, and an object detection module 104 for identifying object regions. A classification module 106 classifies detected objects as metallic or non- metallic based on visual features. A two-stage inference pipeline controller 108 coordinates detection and classification processes. An analytics and estimation module 110 determines recyclability status, estimated weight, scrap value, and environmental impact. A user interface module 112 presents detection results and recycling guidance, and a report generation module 114 generates a structured output report. The system 100 enables real-time, accurate, and scalable material identification using image-based processing without requiring specialized sensing hardware.
