The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Abstract: The present invention relates to a programmable microfluidic drug-delivery system using a carrier fluid represented by a Jeffrey-fluid model. The proposed device comprises a reservoir, actuation unit, microfluidic channel, sensor assembly, controllable hydraulic-resistance element and controller. The model incorporates relaxation and retardation parameters to represent time-dependent flow response. Pressure, flow-rate and/or temperature measurements are supplied to the controller, which compares measured conditions with a target delivery profile and adjusts pump actuation or channel resistance. The real-life embodiments illustrated are a wearable metered-delivery patch, implant-associated localized delivery, a lab-on-chip research cartridge and a microneedle-assisted transdermal system. These are proposed embodiments requiring technical, safety and regulatory validation before therapeutic use.
