MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621066728 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune on May 27, 2026, for Smart Paediatric Ct Dose Reduction System With Hardware-Integrated Protocol Control And Organ-Dose Monitoring.

Inventor includes Malik, Maajid Mohi Ud Din.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SMART PAEDIATRIC CT DOSE REDUCTION SYSTEM WITH HARDWARE-INTEGRATED PROTOCOL CONTROL AND ORGAN-DOSE MONITORING A smart paediatric dose reduction system (100) for computed tomography (CT) imaging is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a CT scanner subsystem (101) having a detector assembly (101a), a patient table subsystem (101b), and a scanner console (101c). A gateway interface board (102) communicatively interfaces with the CT scanner subsystem (101) and transmits paediatric scan acquisition parameters to the scanner console (101c). An edge compute module (103) comprising a processor and memory module (103b), a storage unit (103c), and a co-processor (103d) determines patient size information and retrieves predefined paediatric scan protocols. A dose computation server (104) generates organ-dose estimates from scan telemetry, while an operator overlay module (105) provides dose alerts and protocol confirmation. A body-dimension sensor (106) assists patient-specific protocol selection and radiation-dose optimisation.
