Abstract: The present invention relates to a smart post-harvest storage monitoring and control system based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology for improving the storage conditions of agricultural produce. The system is designed to monitor environmental parameters, particularly temperature, within a storage unit using a DHT11 sensor, and detect movement or intrusion using an infrared (IR) sensor. A NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller processes the sensor data and communicates it to a mobile application through a wireless network for real-time monitoring and alerts. The system further includes relay-based actuator modules that automatically control a cooling fan and a heating pad based on predefined temperature thresholds, thereby maintaining optimal storage conditions. Unlike existing systems that focus primarily on monitoring and alerts, the proposed system integrates both monitoring and automatic environmental control in a single, low-cost, and simplified architecture. This makes it particularly suitable for small-scale farmers and rural deployments with limited infrastructure. The invention reduces post-harvest losses, enhances storage efficiency, and provides a practical and scalable solution for smart agricultural storage management.
