Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a smart water flow monitoring and automatic leakage identification system for real-time monitoring and control of water distribution systems. The system comprises a water flow sensor, a microcontroller-based control unit, a relay-controlled water pump, a buzzer alarm unit, a display module, and a GSM communication module. The water flow sensor continuously measures water flow and transmits corresponding signals to the control unit. The control unit analyzes the flow data to identify abnormal flow conditions indicative of leakage. Upon leakage detection, the control unit automatically actuates the relay module to switch OFF the water pump, activates the buzzer alarm, and transmits leakage alert notifications to a predefined mobile device. The system further supports IoT-enabled cloud integration and AI-assisted monitoring for smart-city applications. The invention provides a low-cost, scalable, energy-efficient, and reliable solution for minimizing water wastage and enabling efficient water management in residential, agricultural, industrial, and municipal infrastructures.
