Abstract: SMARTCROP: EDGE AI PLANT MONITORING & AUTOMATED FERTILIZATION Plant diseases are a problem for the worlds food supply and farming. The old way of finding diseases in plants is by looking at them which is slow and can be wrong. It also needs an expert to do it. This project is about making a system that can find plant diseases on its own. It uses Machine Learning, Image Processing and the Internet of Things to detect plant diseases and give the treatment to the plants. The system uses a camera to take pictures of plant leaves. Then it processes the pictures. Uses a special kind of computer program called a Convolutional Neural Network to figure out if the plant is healthy or not. It can even say what disease the plant has and how sure it is. When it knows what the problem is it looks at a database on the internet to find out what kind of fertilizer or pesticide the plant needs. At the time a small computer connected to the internet triggers a machine that gives the plant the exact right amount of fertilizer. This system works well it does not waste a lot of chemicals it saves money on labor and it helps the plants get better quickly.
