Abstract: ABSTRACT SMARTWATCH-BASED PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM FOR INTENSIVE CARE UNITS A wearable smartwatch-based patient monitoring system (100) for integration with intensive care unit monitoring infrastructure includes a smartwatch device (102) configured to be worn by nursing personnel. A wireless communication module (104) embedded within the smartwatch device (102) enables real-time connectivity with ICU bedside monitors and a central nursing station console for transmission of patient physiological data and alert notifications. A display screen (106) on the smartwatch device (102) shows assigned bed numbers, patient identification codes, and real-time vital parameters. An alert delivery mechanism (108) includes a vibration motor and a micro-speaker configured to deliver patient-specific notifications through customized vibration patterns, controlled alert tones, or both. A memory storage unit (110) embedded within the smartwatch device (102) or accessible via a memory card port stores patient-related data, configuration settings, and alert logs.
