Abstract: The invention relates to a sustainable method for stabilizing clayey soil using micronized Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) and Calcium Lignosulfonate (CLS). Micronized POFA, rich in silica and alumina, exhibits enhanced pozzolanic activity, forming cementitious compounds that improve soil strength and reduce plasticity. CLS, a lignin based polymer, acts as a dispersant and binder, modifying soil structure, reducing permeability, and enhancing particle bonding. The combined application of POFA and CLS produces synergistic improvements in geotechnical properties, including higher maximum dry density, improved California Bearing Ratio (CBR), and significant gains in Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) after curing. The invention involves laboratory investigations to identify optimum dosage ranges of POFA and CLS, ensuring cost effective stabilization while maintaining performance. The treated soil demonstrates reduced shrink–swell potential, improved durability, and long term stability. This eco friendly approach recycles industrial by products, reduces carbon emissions, and provides a practical solution for pavement subgrades, foundations, and infrastructure development in regions with problematic clayey soils.
