MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082349 A) filed by Srm University- Ap on July 03, 2026, for Solar-Powered Autonomous Vehicle With Adaptive Energy Management And Iot Cloud Optimization.

Inventors include Bashir, Rouf Ul; and Mishra, Sambit Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: A solar-powered autonomous vehicle system includes a solar panel (100) configured to harvest solar energy, a battery (102) coupled to the solar panel (100), a solar power manager (104) coupled between the solar panel (100) and the battery (102) and configured to implement maximum power point tracking, a motor driver (106) configured to control vehicle motors (108), infrared sensors (110) configured to detect a path, ultrasonic sensors (112) configured to detect obstacles, an embedded microcontroller (114) coupled to the solar power manager (104), the battery (102), the motor driver (106), the infrared sensors (110), and the ultrasonic sensors (112), and an Internet of Things communication module (116) coupled to the embedded microcontroller (114). The embedded microcontroller (114) monitors state of charge of the battery (102) in real-time, compares the state of charge against first and second thresholds, switches between autonomous, low power, and stop modes based on the comparison, adjusts pulse width modulation signals to control motor speed, performs line following with proportional-integral-derivative correction, executes obstacle avoidance manoeuvres, transmits telemetry data to a cloud platform (118), and receives over-the-air parameter updates.
