Abstract: The increasing demand for smart agricultural and home automation systems has created the need for efficient, eco-friendly, and low-cost grass cutting solutions. Traditional grass cutting machines generally depend on fuel-powered engines and require continuous manual effort, resulting in higher maintenance costs, noise pollution “fuel consumption, and environmental impact. To overcome these limitations, this project titled “Solar Powered Bluetooth Controlled Smart Lawn Mower” has been developed. The proposed system is a compact and intelligent robotic grass cutter that operates using rechargeable battery power and renewable solar energy. The system is designed using an Arduino UNO microcontroller as the main control unit. Bluetooth communication using the HC-05 Bluetooth module, allowing the user to wirelessly control the robot through a smartphone application. The movement of the robot is achieved using DC gear motors controlled through an L298N motor driver module, while the grass cutting mechanism is implemented using a high-speed 775 DC motor controlled through a relay module. A solar panel and solar charge controller are integrated into the system to recharge the 12V battery during sunlight conditions. The use of solar energy reduces dependency on external electricity sources and promotes sustainable energy utilization. The robot can move in forward, backward, left, and right directions and can also independently control the cutter blade operation through Bluetooth commands. The proposed project provides several advantages such as reduced human effort, low operational cost, portability, easy maintenance, wireless operation, and eco-friendly performance. The system is especially useful for lawn maintenance, gardens, parks, playgrounds, and small- scale agricultural applications.
