Abstract: 9. ABSTRACT SOLAR-POWERED DIRECTIONAL BLUETOOTH LOW ENERGY BEACON EMBEDDED IN ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE SAFETY ALERTS. A transmitter unit (10), fabricated on a single printed circuit board of common design and embedded within a road infrastructure element such as a speed bump or road stud, broadcasts a road safety signal type code via BLE 5.0 Coded PHY through a directional antenna (15) focused toward approaching traffic. It is powered by an integrated solar panel (16), MPPT charge controller, lithium-ion battery and voltage regulator, sealed to IP68. A programming header (60) permits a selected signal type to be written during manufacture, so that identical boards are differentiated by signal type only at the programming step. A companion smartphone application applies RSSI directional filtering, log-distance proximity estimation, GPS speed measurement and braking-distance urgency calculation to deliver overlay alerts. The system requires no external power, network or vehicle-side hardware. Reference figure:
