Abstract: Solar-Powered Insect Trap with UV and Biochemical Attractants for Sustainable Agriculture This invention describes an Autonomous Solar-Powered Insect Trap designed for sustainable agricultural pest management without reliance on chemical pesticides. The system integrates UV-activated phototactic stimuli, species-specific biochemical lures, photoluminescent coatings, and an eco-friendly capture mechanism to effectively attract and entrap targeted insect pests. A monocrystalline solar panel powers the system, storing energy in a rechargeable battery to enable continuous operation during nocturnal pest activity. The UV-LED module emits 360–400 nm wavelengths, scientifically proven to induce insect attraction, while pheromone and kairomone lures enhance species-specific targeting. The photoluminescent surface coatings increase visual stimuli, extending attraction efficiency. The trapping mechanism utilizes biodegradable adhesives or electromechanical grids, ensuring non-toxic pest containment. The system is autonomous, scalable, and adaptable to diverse agricultural conditions, reducing pesticide dependence, mitigating environmental contamination, and enhancing crop protection. This innovation provides a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and sustainable pest control solution for modern precision agriculture.
