The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The titled invention discloses a solar powered small scale absorption refrigeration system designed to provide low-cost and energy-efficient cold storage for agricultural and fruit products, particularly in rural areas. The system includes a concentrated solar collector (1) connected to a generator (2) for producing refrigerant vapour using a LiBr-H2O solution. The vapour is condensed in a condenser (3), expanded through an expansion valve (4), and passed into a flooded type evaporator (5) to produce a cooling effect. The refrigerant vapour is absorbed in an absorber (6) and circulated through a solution heat exchanger (7) using a solution pump (8) to complete the cycle. A PRV (9) regulates system pressure, while a cold storage chamber (10) maintains low temperature for preservation. A thermal energy storage unit (11) stores excess cooling for non-solar hours, and a circulation fan (12) ensures uniform cooling, enabling a self-sustained and reliable refrigeration system.
