The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: A solid propellant composition for a gas generator and method of preparation thereof is provided. The solid propellant composition includes phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) as an oxidizing agent and a dual binder-plasticizer system including an energy-releasing nitrocellulose binder with triethylene glycol dinitrate (TEGDN), and a non-energy-releasing polymeric binder with a corresponding non-energy-releasing plasticizer. The solid propellant composition is vacuum deaerated and shaped by extrusion moulding into solid propellant grains, followed by cutting and, where required, curing or cooling. The solid propellant composition provides reliable low-pressure ignition, stable burning behaviour, high gaseous-product generation, low solid residue, and substantially uniform extruded grains having controlled density and reduced structural defects. Upon complete combustion, the composition produces 1 wt% of solid residual matter and releases at least 3.8 moles of gaseous products per 100 gm of consumed composition.
