Inventors include Dr. Sriharitha Rowthu; Rakesh Choubey; Panchal Shivamkumar Rajendrakumar; and Trivedi Chirag Rameshchandra.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SOLID SLIPPERY COATING COMPOSITIONS FOR PACKAGING CONTAINERS AND METHOD OF PREPARATION The present disclosure relates to solid slippery coating composition for packaging container and method of preparation thereof. The coating composition comprise polydimethylsiloxane in combination with waxes selected from beeswax, carnauba wax, paraffin wax, rice bran wax and candelilla wax and curing agent for PDMS. The method comprises dispersing polydimethylsiloxane precursor in an organic solvent via ultrasonication, adding at least one wax, magnetically stirring at elevated temperature until the wax dissolves, adding curing agent, depositing the coating solution on inner surfaces of packaging containers through dip coating process, curing to allow crosslinking of polydimethylsiloxane precursor, and subjecting to wax recrystallization to grow micro or nano surface topologies. The composition is non-toxic, free from fluorinated compounds, and safe for food and cosmetics packaging. The coatings exhibit hydrophobic properties with static contact angles exceeding 100° and slide-off angles below 30°, effectively repelling dairy products and cosmetics from packaging containers. The mass of milk stuck in the pristine HDPE bottle was 0.474 g while in the coated bottle it was only 0.164 g, demonstrating a 3 times reduction in residual milk in the coated bottle compared to the uncoated pristine bottle.
