Abstract: SPACE CONSERVING MICROREACTOR The present invention relates to the field of microchannel reactors, and more particularly, to the design, fabrication and use of microreactors. The present invention provides microchannel plate reactors designed to enhance heat transfer, and optimize material utilization. The present invention provides a space conserving microchannel plate reactor (100) comprising microfluidic channel forming a convoluted flow path through a series of oval shape chamber (108) comprising horizontal barrier (106) at the center to split and recombine fluid therein and each successive chamber (104) separated by narrow connecting channel (105); characterized in that the said microfluidic channels arranged together by sharing a uniform thickness wall (107) throughout the microchannel length that leads to form a space-filled configuration. Therefore, the present invention combines the novel concept of "space filling" with the mass-transfer principle of "split-and- recombination" to create a highly efficient and cost-effective reactor.
