MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641118355 A) filed by Vandana Sudhakar Sardar; Shilpa Choudhary; and Rajarajeshwari S on October 03, 2026, for Spatial And Non-Spatial Data-Driven Intelligent System For Drought Assessment Using Hybrid Learning Techniques.
Inventors include Vandana Sudhakar Sardar; Shilpa Choudhary; and Rajarajeshwari S.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses the development of a spatial and non-spatial data-driven intelligent system for drought assessment using hybrid learning techniques for analysing, monitoring, categorizing and forecasting drought scenarios in a geographical area. The system includes a data acquisition module (101) designed for acquiring spatial data such as satellite images, vegetation indices, soil properties and land surface parameters and non-spatial data such as precipitation, temperature, humidity, groundwater depth, crop status and drought history. A data preprocessing module (102) is used for consolidating the obtained datasets and a feature extraction module (103) for extracting features related to spatial, temporal, climatic, hydrologic and environmental aspects. A hybrid learning module (104) uses machine and deep learning methods to estimate the drought conditions and its severity. The spatial analysis module (105) produces drought maps, and the decision support module (106) generates indicators, alerts, forecasts and reports. A continuous learning module (107) updates the learning models based on new data obtained. FIG.1
