MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611055582 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University on May 01, 2026, for Speeding Alert System Using Whatsapp Api.
Inventors include Anshita Agarwal; Ridima Agarwal; and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Shah.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a real-time vehicle speed monitoring and alert system that integrates on-board sensing hardware with a cloud- based backend and a messaging-platform interface. The system acquires vehicle speed and GPS location data, compares the measured speed with configurable limits and, upon detecting over-speeding, generates structured alert data containing speed, location and timestamp. The backend interacts with the WhatsApp Business or WhatsApp Cloud API to automatically send text and voice alerts, including map links, to pre-registered stakeholders such as vehicle owners, drivers, fleet managers and authorities. A trip-recording module logs speed and event data across each journey, computes driver safety scores, and generates end-of-trip summaries that are also delivered via WhatsApp. A web dashboard provides role-based access to live speed views, historical alerts, driver scores and trip histories, enabling improved road-safety monitoring and behaviour analysis.
