Abstract: A brake drum having a roll-formed, steel shell that is axisymmetric about an axis of rotation. The steel shell has an open end of the steel shell and a second end of the steel shell, where the second end of the steel shell is axially opposite the open end of the steel shell. The steel shell further has an integrated squealer band, which is a raised portion of the steel shell that extends radially outward between the open end of the steel shell and the second end of the steel shell. The raised portion extends continuously in a circumferential direction about the steel shell. The raised portion of the steel shell has a concave section whose center of curvature is radially farther from the axis of rotation than the concave section.
