Abstract: This steel sheet has a prescribed chemical composition and is such that the microstructure at a quarter-thickness position, which is a position at one quarter of the sheet thickness in the sheet thickness direction from the surface, comprises, by area%, 3-10% of retained austenite, 0-10% of ferrite, 0-5% of pearlite, and 75-97% in total of martensite and bainite. In a surface layer part, which is at a position 50-100 µm from the surface in the sheet thickness direction, the area ratio of prior austenite grains containing therein one or more residual austenite grains having a long-side length of 0.5 µm or greater and an aspect ratio of 2.0 or greater is 30% or greater.
