Inventors include Banupriya S; Santhosh S; Francis Auston J; Divyesh Balakumar S; Jonathan Samuel I; Balaji S; Balan Immanuel P V; and Harsha Varadhan S.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention proposes a replaceable joint cartridge, protected strain and displacement sensors, accelerometers, a bounded semi-active damper, mechanical movement stops, and a condition-monitoring controller. The proposed architecture combines real-time sensing with a physical operating model and a supervisory controller that selects permitted responses under mechanical, thermal and safety constraints. The controller compares predicted and measured behaviour, records decisions, and enters a predetermined safe state when confidence or operating authority is insufficient. The design is intended to address variable operating conditions without depending on continuous manual adjustment. The proposed advantages include more targeted control, earlier fault recognition and improved maintenance traceability; performance must be established by application-specific experiments.
