MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641119474 A) filed by Dr. Neelam Sanjeev Kumar; G. Mohammed Azam; and Aishwarya Balaji on October 06, 2026, for Study And Analysis Of Zero-Encryption Ransomware Interception System For Cyber Attack.

Inventors include Dr. Neelam Sanjeev Kumar; G. Mohammed Azam; and Aishwarya Balaji.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The ransomware will encrypt the files of the victims and demands payment to give the decryption key. The traditional anti-virus program will not be able to detect "zero-day" ransomware due to its static code signature-based approach. The research paper SENTRY-0: A Zero-Encryption Ransomware Interception System detects and mitigates the ransomware attack using only behavioral analysis techniques. No prior knowledge about the malware is required. Six algorithms are used including Sliding window burst rate engine, Decoy Maze honeypot with filename randomization, File system events notification at OS level, psutil/proc scanning and process termination of attacking process, Triple layer snapshots and rollback and Dual Layer Process watchdog. The experimental results show that there are no encrypted files in any attack scenario as the maze attack blocks the attacker from accessing the real file while the direct attack is undone in just a few milliseconds. The version 2 of SENTRY-0 consists of four patches for version 1 of the same.
