MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641066373 A) filed by Jubin J Kurichiyil; Antony N P; and Varsha Paul on May 21, 2026, for Sugar-Free Effervescent Tender Coconut-Based Electrolyte Composition With Dual Hydration And Gastrointestinal Relief Function..
Inventors include Jubin J Kurichiyil; Antony N P; and Varsha Paul.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sugar-free, effervescent electrolyte composition based predominantly on tender coconut powder for use as a daily hydration and gastrointestinal support formulation. The composition comprises greater than 90% natural tender coconut powder as a primary source of bioavailable electrolytes, combined with a controlled effervescent system including potassium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and ascorbic acid. Upon dissolution in water, the formulation produces a regulated effervescence that enhances rapid dispersion, electrolyte release, and absorption. In addition to replenishing electrolytes lost through perspiration and metabolic activity, the composition is configured to provide a secondary functional benefit of mild gastric acid neutralization and reduction of gas- related discomfort. The absence of added sugars results in a low glycemic index formulation suitable for regular consumption, including for individuals requiring controlled sugar intake. Optional inclusion of dehydrated fruit and vegetable powders provides natural flavour and supplemental micronutrients without synthetic additives. The invention offers a multi-functional alternative to conventional oral rehydration and antacid products, enabling safe, convenient, and daily use in a single integrated formulation.
