Abstract: A support band (200) for a head mounted display (500) is disclosed. The support band includes a flexible support portion (210) and an adjustable fitting mechanism including first and second pull straps (290(a), 290(b)) associated with opposite lateral portions of the support band. First and second levers (260(a), 260(b)) selectively engage the respective pull straps and are biased by a springing mechanism (270) toward strap-retaining positions. A common tightening member (300) is coupled to the pull straps to reduce an effective circumference of the support band, while strap-engaging portions permit movement of the pull straps in a tightening direction and resist reverse movement. A common release member (295) is operatively associated with both levers and, upon user actuation, displaces the levers against the spring bias to permit loosening of the pull straps. Fig. 3
