MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521031579 A) filed by Meril Corporation I Private Limited on March 31, 2025, for Surgical Alignment Fixture.
Inventors include Patel, Vivek; Kv, Latheesh; Panchal, Pratik; Gandhi, Jimesh; and Bhagat, Mohil.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The surgical alignment fixture (100) comprises a fixture body (102) configured to receive a distal femoral cutting guide (106), with a central part (202) disposed within the fixture body (102). The central part (202) includes a first set of extruded serrations (604) designed to mechanically interlock with a second set of extruded serrations (108) on the distal femoral cutting guide (106). When engaged, the mechanical interlock prevents relative movement between the cutting guide (106) and fixture body (102). The first set of extruded serrations (604) and the second set of extruded serrations (108) feature complementary tooth profiles that mesh together under force applied by a biasing member (206), creating resistance against translational movement while maintaining precise positional alignment. The mechanical interlock ensures stable fixation during surgical procedures, allowing surgeons to achieve accurate and consistent cuts of the distal femur.
