MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109567 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Surplus-Food Weighing And Interlocked Handoff Apparatus For Food-Waste Management Systems.

Inventors include Pragya Rajput; Parth Rastogi; Rachana Singh Sisodia; and Prashasti Pandey.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a surplus-food containment and handoff apparatus having a frame defining loading and pickup bays joined by a descending guide path. A removable food vessel has a lid movable to a sealed position. A biased weighing support occupies the loading bay and moves from a weighing position interrupting the guide path to a transfer position aligned with the guide path. A lid latch retains the weighing support until the lid is sealed. A carrier interface receives a transport carrier at the pickup bay. An interlock assembly links a carrier-engagement member, retaining gate, and telescoping collar so that carrier insertion first seals the collar against the carrier while the gate retains the vessel, and then withdraws the gate to transfer the sealed vessel through the collar into the carrier.
