Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: SUSTAINABLE GARDEN GLAMOUR PRODUCT SYSTEM USING COCONUT-BASED VEGAN LEATHER AND NATURAL DYE INTEGRATION The present invention relates to a sustainable garden product system using coconut-husk-derived vegan bio-leather for decorative and functional surfaces. The bio-leather is formed from alkali-treated coir microfibrils combined with natural rubber latex, plant-protein binder, and coconut oil plasticizer, cast into flexible sheets of 0.8–1.6 mm thickness. The material is mordanted using alum, citric acid, and tannic acid, and dyed with plant-based extracts such as madder, indigo, marigold, pomegranate, turmeric, or annatto. A beeswax and carnauba finish enhances durability and appearance. The bio-leather is used to produce garden accessories including kneeling pads, tool grips, gloves, aprons, hat bands, and tool caddies. The system offers a biodegradable, microplastic-free alternative to synthetic and animal leather, improving environmental sustainability while maintaining aesthetic and ergonomic performance.
